Spices
Under our DAVA brand, we offer a broad selection of spices - everything from pepper and oregano to garlic powder. We have a spice company in our group and as we have a strong focus on organic foods. Therefore, having our very own collection of spices as part of the DAVA brand was a natural choice.
Although the spices are grown throughout the entire world, they are packaged and prepared for use in just one place: at our company, DAVA Foods Ingredients A/S, located in the town of Hadsund in Denmark.
Why are spices important when cooking and baking?
Spices are added to food to add flavour, as very few dishes would taste the same without spices. Just salt and pepper can often work wonders in everyday cooking. Likewise, some spices, such as turmeric and paprika, can also impart colour, making food more colourful and appetising to look at.
Spices can be used in both sweet and savoury cuisine, although many will be preferred in either salty or sweet. However, some spices, such as cinnamon and chili, are suitable for use in both sweet and savoury cuisine.
