How much protein do you need?

The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that you consume at least 0.8 g protein per kilo body weight, on a daily basis.

It is commonly known that the protein requirement can vary and depends on various circumstances:

Regular Exerciser: 1.0 g protein per kilo body weight daily

Elite Trainer: 1.2-1.5 g protein per kilo body weight daily

Serious Strength Trainers: up to 1.7 g per kilo body weight daily

Elderly: 1.5-2.0 g protein per kilo body weight daily

During and after sickness: 1.7 g per kilo body weight daily

Serious illness: 1.7 g protein per kilo body weight daily
